China - Beijing/ HuangShan/ Shanghai

For this trip, Beijing and Huangshan are the main focus. Beijing for Chinese history, Huangshan for the gorgeous scenery. Shanghai is just a short stop to enjoy the city's food before flying back.

Transport

Beijing: Within Beijing just take subway or Didi. To 墓田欲 Great wall of China: Direct bus that pick up at 前门集展中心. No need to prebook, get up the bus and pay. For Badaling Great wall, you can take subway too.

Beijing to Huangshan: Flight

Visiting Huangshan

There are 3 cable car routes. 2 of the cable car routes has the same bus pick up point and there is another one at the North.

TangKouZhen 汤口镇 is the town closest to the entrance of Huangshan. HuangShan South gate 南门 is where you take the bus to bring you to cable car stations. There are 2 cable car stations at this gate, namely 慈光阁 （前山）and 云谷（后山）. At this gate, you can either take the bus to 前山 or 后山. To survive the climb on top of Huangshan, it is advisable to go from 后山 towards 前山 as there is more downwards walking then upward climbing. If in the event that 后山 cable is under maintenance, try getting in from the north (北门）cable car instead. I wouldn't recommend starting from 前山 as the uphill stairs really looks like those stairways to heaven.

Always ask for the recommended route from your hotel before getting up Huangshan. They are the best people to seek for advises.

Recommended to stay at least 1 night on Huangshan mountain to experience the beautiful sunset or sunrise.

Visiting Beijing

There are many places that worth visiting in Beijing but due to our short stay, I would say the following are most enjoyable:

1. Forbidden city: Must go with a guide to understand the story behind

2. Yu He Yuan/Tian Tan/Yuan Ming Yuan: I joined a 1 day tour from KLOOK which is totally non enjoyable. It's really what we say as 走马看花.  Better to explore each place at your own pace.

3. Gong Yan 宫宴 dinner： We enjoyable omakase dinner with performance. Highly recommended.

4. Peking duck: 3 main players. 四季民福，全聚德，大董. Didn't managed to try 大董. Prefers 四季民福 to 全聚德.

5. 牛街: Basically this is a street that sells all the Xinjiang halal food. Delicious skewers.
